Brothersfree

Brothersfree, a Hong Kong based art group consisting of Kenny Wong, Winston Ma, and William Tsang, was one of the first toy designers to create their figures with an urban design focus. All three artists of Brotherfree originally studied illustration and advertising at the Hong Kong Design Institute, but eventually broke into the vinyl art industry after being inspired by Michael Lau's work.

Their first vinyl exhibition was at the Toycon in 2001, where they unveiled the original 12" Brothersworker vinyl figure. Ever since, Brothersfree has revolutionized the vinyl industry with their Brothersworker series, which focused on muscular blue-collar workers. Their projects including the original Ah Aun & Ah Gum duo, the abstracted Brothersjoker clown series, and an expanding line of mini figures. Brothersfree's highly stylized angles and manga-esque proportions are easily recognizable, and have earned the trio a well-earned fame amongst fans and collectors alike.
